Weaving Afghans Together

Copyright 1992 Vicki Becker

Use a #16 tapestry needle and matching yarn.  Lay the two pieces to be woven together side by side right sides up.  Hold the edges together or pin them together using plastic hair roller picks.  Bring the needle up through the first stitch on the left edge.  Insert the needle down through the center of the first stitch on the right edge.  Pass under to the next stitch and draw the yarn through to the right side.  Insert the needle in the center of the stitch on the same row of the left edge.  Pass under to the next stitch and draw the yarn through to the right side.  Continue working from side to side, matching rows and any color changes.  Pull the stitches firmly together, the seam should not show.  See figures 11 and 12.
